Adult Music Lessons
Music Instructions gives adults that rare opportunity to learn something new and express themselves artistically.

As adults, we really need to learn or die (as one of my adult students once told me).  I agree with this.  We adults tend to think we can’t learn as quickly or easily as children.  One reason for this fallacy is because children must allot more than half their day to learning, whereas most adults probably allocate less than 10 hours a year to genuine self improvement.  Learning a new instrument gives an individual the chance to chose a new direction and accomplish a goal.

With very few exceptions my adult students are the parents of kids I have taught who want to share the experience with their kids.  A musical family experience is one of the greatest experiences there can be at family parties and around the holidays.

Since it’s relatively simple to get started making solid music on the guitar; it is a popular instrument for adults getting into music for the first time.

Progress comes quickly with a little dedication and practice.  Once a certain level of competence is achieved the students can get together and play with friends, giving them a fun social activity.

The piano is also a good choice as piano music can really enrich a home.  Parents who play for or with their children improve their relationship and ensure their children's interest in a music program down the road.  An adult who is dedicated to self- improvement can move along very quickly in a piano program and see positive results!

A special kind of satisfaction flows through me when I see the adults perform at the concerts.  They are doing what they always wanted to do and I was a part of getting them there.  The kids too get a kick out the parents because they can't deny...they are good!

An adult music program ensures that 30 minutes per week will be spent in a learning mode where the adult student will be challenged to process new information and put it to use.  They will also be forced to be disciplined with their time and routine in order to find the practice time required to move forward.
